Origin*
The location on a number line that represents 0
Absolute Value*
The absolute value of a number is its distance from 0 on the number line. Denote the absolute value of a number with verical lines. Example: Absolute Value of -3 is written |-3|
Opposites*
Two numbers that are the same distance from 0 but in opposite direcr­tions from 0 are called opposites.
Subtra­ction*
Addition of the opposite of a number
Algebraic Expres­sion*
A combin­ation of constants and variable joined by arithmetic symbols
Similar Terms*
Expres­sions that contain the same variable parts.
